Known for comfort, safety and craftsmanship the 2010 Jaguar XF packages sports styling and immense power into a refined luxury sedan.
Choose from three trim levels — Luxury, Premium and XFR — and three engine options— a 300-horsepower, 4.2-liter V-8, a 385-horsepower, 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V-8, and a 510-horsepower, 5.0-liter supercharged V-8. Compared to the previous supercharged 4.2-liter V-8, power has increased by 23 percent and torque by 12 percent without sacrificing fuel efficiency and emissions. The XF receives 15-16 mpg in the city and 21-25 mpg on the highway and competes with the Acura RL, Cadillac DTS, and Infiniti M35.
Adaptive Dynamics, a computer-controlled variable dampening system, and Active Differential Control, an electronically-controlled rear differential, are new XFR features that work together to optimize traction under hard acceleration and cornering. A six-speed automatic transmission has a fully adaptive shift system that optimizes performance and economy, and continually adapts to suit driving style.
Immediately recognizable due to new 20-inch wheels and a redesigned front end, the 2010 boasts numerous luxurious amenities. Multi-way adjustable power seats are standard on all XF models with the option of actively-ventilated heated and cooled seats and a heated steering wheel. The XF also offers the optional Bowers & Wilkins 440-watt sound system with Dolby ProLogic II surround sound and MP3-compatible Portable Audio Interface with touch-screen or steering wheel-mounted controls. Digital and SIRIUS Satellite Radio have also been added with HD radio as an option.
The XF offers several user-friendly and safety technologies, including a full shift-by-wire transmission controlled by the JaguarDrive Selector, plus cruise control with automatic speed limiter. The optional radar-based blind spot monitor warns the driver when another vehicle is nearby in a different lane, and XF’s optional rear camera provides a clear view of the area behind the car. On-screen guidance lines move according to steering wheel angle when the car is in reverse. The navigation system now includes turn-by-turn instructions in the message center, which indicates the route with a combination of junction icon, distance countdown details, and street name. Emergency Brake Assist is standard on the XF and Adaptive Cruise Control is now available as an option on all 5.0-liter models.
When luxurious refinement, cutting-edge technology and rocket-like power and speed collide, the primal, yet sophisticated 2010 Jaguar XF is born.
